The instrument rating is typically completed in 50-60 hours of flight time, and is similar in intensity to Private Pilot training. The Commercial Certificate requires considerable aeronautical experience, however the training can be completed relatively quickly. The CFI and CFII certificates require considerable effort, and time varies. Consider our accelerated CFI program if time is critical.
No, you do not need your Instrument Rating to obtain a Commercial Pilot Certificate. However, your Commercial Certificate would include a limitation on flying at night, in addition to being limited to visual flight conditions.
